House Committees Announce Investigation Of Justice Department On Hillary Clinton

On Tuesday, an announcement was made by the chairmen of two House committees that they have opened a joint investigations into the decisions that were made by the Justice Department as it was investigating the entire case concerning former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The details have revealed the decisions that were executed by the Department of Justice while Barack Obama was in his last year in office and now there are a “host of outstanding questions,” Bob Goodlatte, who is the House Judiciary Chairman, as well as House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Trey Gowdy have revealed in a statement.

The “outstanding questions” of the FBI investigations that cover Hillary Clinton and President Donald Trump. Goodlatte said the investigation will cover the information of why the FBI publicly announced an investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server, but didn’t do the same thing for an investigation into Trump’s campaign associates.

Also, the House committees will be investigating why former FBI Director James Comey notified Congress about the reopening of the investigation into Clinton’s email server, and the decision about whether to charge her.

“The committees will review these decisions and others to better understand the reasoning behind how certain conclusions were drawn,” said both Goodlatte and Gowdy, saying that, “Congress has a constitutional duty to preserve the integrity of our justice system by ensuring transparency and accountability of actions taken.”
